For those traveling to Tuscaloosa on Saturday, we encourage you to consider staying outside Tuscaloosa for that night and traveling into town on Sunday, due to the University of Alabama home football game on Saturday, November 21. Depending on the direction you are coming from, possible options include Birmingham and Hoover. Birmingham’s Downtown and Southside/Five Points South areas are approximately an hour drive from Tuscaloosa via I-20/59, with Hoover somewhat closer along I-459 (especially hotels at exits 10 and 13). Those approaching from other directions may want to consider communities along their route before reaching Tuscaloosa rather than trying to find a very expensive Saturday-night room in the city.
If you are bringing students, Birmingham also offers some incredible educational opportunities that could make a Saturday stay worthwhile, particularly sites related to civil rights history and the cultural, economic, historical, and physical geography of the city.
When booking for Sunday and Monday nights, be sure to change the dates of your stay! They are automatically set to November 21-23, 2026.
Last Day to Book: November 1, 2026
