2020 Meeting Call For Papers

75th SEDAAG Annual Meeting

Virtual Meeting

November 6-7, 2020

SEDAAG will hold its 75th annual meeting virtually on November 6-7, 2020 (we plan to meet next year in Florence, AL November 20-22, 2021). All are invited to participate and submit a paper or poster or organize a special session. The submission deadline for all types of presentations is Friday, October 9th, 2020.

The virtual meeting will utilize the same platform used by the AAG for their 2020 meeting. Organized sessions around specific areas or themes of research, methodological approaches, or regions are especially encouraged.  Program Chair for the 2020 meeting is Bill Graves from UNC Charlotte (bgraves@uncc.edu).

All individual paper sessions for the virtual meeting will use an extended Lightning Session format. The extended lightning paper sessions will consist of three to five 10-minute presentations per session and session lengths are limited to 60 minutes.  Special session organizers may choose a traditional panel or traditional 15-minute presentation format in a 75-minute session. All presentations and sessions will be archived and available online to meeting registrants for 30 days.

Graduate students are encouraged to submit a paper for the Graduate Student Honors Competition. Undergraduate students are encouraged to submit a poster to the Undergraduate Honors Poster Competition, sponsored and administered by the SEDAAG Education Committee.

The sections below highlight information on submissions, and the online submission process. All submissions must be submitted via the AAG Abstract Management System (development still in progress – please check back soon). Please note that all paper/poster presenters and session chairs MUST be members of SEDAAG. Member pricing is available to SEDAAG members. To become a SEDAAG member and receive the member rate visit SEDAAG.org.  Membership in the AAG is separate from SEDAAG; joining AAG does not automatically make you a member of SEDAAG, although you will receive some general mailings from them if you are a member and your address is in the Southeast Region.  You are not required to have current membership with AAG in order to participate in the SEDAAG annual meeting.

Finally, and importantly, on behalf of the SEDAAG leadership team, we want to especially encourage new members to participate in the meeting and we want to thank our current members for their continued support! We hope to see all of you in person in Florence, Alabama in November 2021.
