Dr. Matthew Balentine
University of North Alabama

Matt is an assistant professor at the University of North Alabama. He serves as the Department of Geoscience’s experiential Leaning Coordinator and the GeoClub’s faculty advisor. He also serves as the faculty advisor for the University’s Flag Football Club. Matt has been a member of SEDAAG for over 14 years – first as a student and now as a faculty member. He currently serves as the GeoBowl state coordinator for Alabama.

Matt’s research interests include Political Geography; Electoral Geography; and topics at the intersection of Geography and Philosophy.  His teaching experience includes introductory physical and human geography courses; Regional Geography of the US South; Geography of US elections; and Geopolitics.
