Dr. Katherine Milla
Florida A&M University
I hold a PhD in Geology from Florida State University. I began my career as a hydrogeologist at the Northwest Florida Water Management District, where I learned GIS in the early days before the Internet was a thing. I am currently on the faculty in the College of Agriculture and Food Sciences at Florida A&M University, where I teach graduate and undergraduate courses in geospatial technologies. I conduct research in urban hydrology and agricultural water quality through FAMU’s Center for Water Resources. I also work with farmers, landowners, and other stakeholders through the FAMU Cooperative Extension program. I love teaching and working with college students and community members on environmental and societal concerns. I have enjoyed a long experience networking and collaborating with GIS professionals and academicians in Florida’s capital city of Tallahassee. I am a newcomer to the AAG and, should I be elected, I look forward to collaborating and serving in the AAG community.
