WORLD GEOGRAPHY BOWL
Undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in programs at institutions in the SEDAAG region and registered for the 2020 SEDAAG virtual meeting are eligible to participate in the virtual World Geography Bowl competition during the meeting. We are still working out details for the event, but it will likely begin with the Round Robin events Friday afternoon (November 6th) and conclude with a final on Saturday (November 7th). We are committed to making this as much like an in-person bowl as possible with synchronous team events. Students who wish to participate will need an internet connection and access to a computer would be preferred to a mobile device to have the most immersive experience (although a mobile device will be okay). Different states have different procedures for fielding teams. Students who are uncertain how to join their state team should contact Dr. Dawn Drake, SEDAAG World Geography Bowl Director, at ddrake4@missouriwestern.edu to receive an entry form or further information.
Participants in the competition at SEDAAG will be ranked by their individual average points scored per round. The highest scoring students will be invited to be a part of SEDAAG’s team at AAG in Seattle in 2021. Those students who represent SEDAAG on the team at AAG will receive travel funding from both AAG and SEDAAG. More details on the AAG team can be obtained from Dr. Dawn Drake.
